The Golden City- Jaisalmer, is the city in the Indian state of the Rajasthan. It is located at the 575 kilometres west of the capital Jaipur. It is the world Heritage site. It is the world Heritage Site. It is also known as Jaisalmer state. The town stands on the ridge of the yellowish sandstone; it is crowned by the fort, it contains the palace and the several ornate Jain temples. By road:
Jaisalmer is connected to rest of the state by the well maintained roads. To Indo-Pak border, special emphasis is given for its maintenance. Ordinary and deluxe buses of Rajasthan Roadways and private companies to operate from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur, Bikaner, Mount Abu, Jalore, Jaipur, Ahmadabad. Roadways main bus stand is opposite railway station and Golden bus terminal is near the State Bank of Bikaner.
By Air:
Though Jaisalmer is not connected directly to airways service as such, Jodhpur airport is 300km away. Jodhpur is well connected to all the major metros of India. From Jodhpur you can hire Cab or you can go by train according to your preferences.
By Rail:
Jaisalmer is connected to major cities of India. Direct trains are also available to Jodhpur as well as from Delhi.
