Bikaner is the city in northwest of state of Rajasthan in the northern India. Bikaner is located 330 kilometres northwest of the state capital, Jaipur. Bikaner city is the administrative headquarters of the Bikaner division. It was formerly the capital of princely state of Bikaner. The Bikaner city was founded by the Rao Bika ji. In the 1486 and from its small origins it has developed into the fifth largest city in the Rajasthan. If ever beauty has flourish in desert then it has been at the Bikaner only.
The city is also known for producing great warriors. With the graceful Haveli, oriental forts and acres of white land are the travel attractions in the Bikaner and the museum city too.
Bikaner is dust swirling desert town and with tremendous forts. Bikaner is fewer tourists than many other cities of Rajasthan. Junagarh fort:
The most attractive fort in the Bikaner is Junagarh fort. The fort was built by the Maharaja Rai Singh. The fort is completely built with red sandstone. The interior of fort is done with the marble. There is also the fort museum within the fort and displays the collection of dresses, paintings, weapons and other historical things.
Lalgarh Palace:
Lalgarh palace was built in the memory of his father by Maharaja Ganga singh. Palace is at 3km from the Bikaner. Palace is quite imposing with its overhanging balconies. Palace is coated in red sandstone and has several lounges, cupolas, grand halls and pavilions.
Now, the Lalgarh palace is converted into heritage hotel.
Camel research and breeding farm:
Camel Research and breeding farm is the only one kind of its kind in Asia. It is 8 kilometres’ from Bikaner.
